Job Description
As part of the Personalization team, you will be responsible for building data pipelines that process billions of events and use machine learning techniques to create personalised user experiences on our Marketplaces. The team consists of data scientists and data engineers that work closely together to deliver end-to-end data products such as recommender systems, data-driven search (using learning-to-rank), autocomplete, related searches and other personalised products that help our users make perfect matches on our sites. Adevinta's wide portfolio of sites and services means that we have plenty of data sources and application areas to try out many different approaches in a creative, innovative and ambitious environment.
What you will do
- Ensure the traceability of the data from the origins to the decisional and analytical data structures
- Adopt the best Machine Learning Operation standards to design, develop and operate scalable end-to-end machine learning and data processing pipelines
- Work with Data Analyst and Scientists to understand their need and provide solutions to solve them
- Productionise machine learning models to serve millions of user with low latency
- Guarantee data infrastructure in all environments.
- Ensure that quality standards and data governance are being achieved
- Share knowledge and provide expert advice to Adevinta engineers as to how to best use the data platform tools as well as providing answers to their engineering needs, fostering a mixed development and operations culture.
- A BSc degree in Computer Science (or equivalent job experience)
- +5 years experience in the industry in a similar role
- Strong analytical / problem-solving skills
- Experience with a scripting language (ideally Python) and a JVM-based language like Java and UNIX command line tools
- Experience with batch and streaming data processing tools (Spark, Kafka, Kafka Streams, etc.)
- Experience with ElasticSearch and other NoSQL database
- Experience with AWS or any other cloud platform
- Experience with Agile methodologies.
- Understanding of Software Development best practices
- Proven ability and experience developing highly structured computer programs, and interested in learning more.
- Must show initiative, proactively finding, discussing and solving product and software problems
- Previous experience putting machine learning in production (feature engineering, etc).
- Experience building low latency services, API and model serving
- Ownership and result-oriented person.
- Have a team-player spirit, which benefits the group vs the individual
- Good written, spoken and interpersonal communication skills; technical and business level English is a must
