Sustainability is at the heart of good corporate governance for Adevinta. It is our guidance when we make decisions and interact with our stakeholders. It also ensures we use resources in a responsible and effective way. We pour our ideas, time and energy into getting governance right in order to support sustainability across the business. Here are the ways we do this.
Governance is a team effort and here’s how it works at Adevinta. The Board of Directors oversees and governs Adevinta’s sustainability performance. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) has the overall responsibility for Adevinta’s sustainability work. The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for the operational performance and reports to the executive management team and Board at least once a year. Our sustainability statement is an integral part of the Board of Directors report.
We’re always looking for ways to improve what we do. In 2021, this included issuing new governance documents that guide our sustainability performance, focused mainly on our supply chain. You can read more about it in the Sustainability section in our annual report. Following the acquisition of eBay Classifieds Group (eCG), we will continue assessing our governance management system and continue implementing additional changes across various areas as appropriate.
We want to make Adevinta a company known not only for helping everything and everyone to find a new purpose, but also because we do this with integrity, fairness and with the highest possible standards of ethical business conduct, building the most trusted and secure marketplaces.
